ONE-BOWL CHOCOLATE CAKE

REALLY EASY AND QUICK TO MAKE!

APPLE PIE - from "Sweet Old-Fashioned Favourites"

Anne O'C made this apple pie recently with great success, she made a slight adjustment by pureeing  half the apple filling and adding about 5 cloves to the apple filling.

BASIC WHITE BREAD

3 teaspoons (10g) dry yeast

1/2 cup (125ml) warm water

2 teaspoons sugar

2 1/2 cups (375g) plain flour

1 teaspoon salt

30g butter, melted

1/2 cup (125ml ) warm milk

1. Combine yeast, water and sugar in small bowl, whisk until yeast dissolves.  Cover, stand in warm place about 10 minutes or until mixture is frothy.

2. Sift flour and salt into large bowl, stir in butter, milk and yeast mixture and mix to a dough.    Turn dough onto floured surface, knead 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.

3. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, stand in warm place about 1 hour or until mixture has doubled in size.

4. Turn dough onto floured surface, knead until smooth.  Grease 1lb loaf tin and place dough in tin.  Cover, stand in warm place about 20 minutes or until risen.  Bake in moderately hot oven about 45 minutes.  Turn bread onto wire rack to cool.
